I’ve created several signs over the years . . . with the vast majority being made out of wood. If outdoor for sure the #1 consideration is Maintenance. All situations are different so I provide assessments base on requirements. Generally speaking, the main factors are sun (UV) exposure followed by wood species, clear vs. paint and moisture exposure.
